Mars: War Logs was Spiders Studio's scrappy action-RPG set on a colonized Mars where water is currency and Technomancers wield electrical powers. The soundtrack by Olivier Deriviere does an impressive job of building atmosphere for what was essentially a mid-budget title punching above its weight.

The "Main Theme" establishes a gritty, post-apocalyptic tone that blends orchestral weight with electronic grime, setting the stage for a Mars that is all dust, desperation, and power struggles. The dual-track structure for locations is one of the smartest aspects of this score.
Each area gets an exploration theme and a fight variant -- "Camp - Drilling Well" shifts into "Camp - Drilling Well (Fight)," "Shadowlair - Slums" escalates into its combat counterpart -- creating a seamless musical experience that reacts to gameplay without breaking immersion.
"Enters The Technomancer" is a highlight, scoring the introduction of the game's signature power class with appropriate mystique and menace. The P.O.W. Camp tracks capture the desperation of the game's opening act perfectly.
The Shadowlair and Tierville sections expand the sonic palette as the story moves beyond the camps into the wider Martian settlements. "I Am The Law" carries authoritarian weight, while "The Old Friend" brings a rare moment of human warmth to an otherwise harsh soundscape.
This soundtrack laid the groundwork for what Spiders would later refine in The Technomancer, and listening back, you can hear the ambition that would carry the studio forward even when the game itself had rough edges.
