"He Walks in the Dark" and "A Crisis Draws Near" do exactly what their titles promise, building dread through layered synths and minor-key progressions. "Hizm World" stands out as something stranger and more disorienting, while "Stray Lamb" carries a thread of vulnerability through the menace.
"Gunshot" punctuates the tracklist with sudden violence, and "Trauma" sits in the aftermath. "Behind the Clouds" and "Momentary Rest" offer brief emotional breathing room, but the overall mood stays oppressive. "Cryptocrime" closes things out with one last dose of unease.
It's a tight, focused collection that commits fully to its Jigokugakuen (Hell Academy) premise without ever going campy.
