Mass Effect 2: Combat Additional Videogame Score

2010 · Windows, Xbox 360

This is the combat music that kept your pulse pounding through every firefight in Mass Effect 2. Composed by Jimmy Hinson and Sam Hulick alongside the broader BioWare audio team, these are the tracks that played when the talking stopped and the biotics started flying.

"Gunship Battle" captures the chaos of that impossible Archangel recruitment mission, "The Human Reaper" scores one of the most jaw-dropping boss reveals in RPG history, and "The Swarms - Shepard's End" brings genuine dread to the final stretch of the suicide mission.

The tracklist reads like a highlight reel of ME2's best action setpieces. "Mother vs. Daughter" underscores the brutal Samara loyalty mission confrontation, "Grunt Awakens" captures that tense moment in the tank, and "Escape From Omega" is pure adrenaline.

"Collector Fever" layers that signature Mass Effect synth-orchestra hybrid with an alien menace that makes the Collectors feel truly otherworldly. As a companion release to the main score, this collection fills in the gaps with the music you actually heard most during gameplay.

"The Long Walk" and "The Final Reckoning" close out the suicide mission with the kind of desperate heroism that made ME2 the high point of the trilogy for so many players. Essential listening if the main OST left you wanting more of the combat side.
