Surreal, drifting sound collages that feel like exploring a painting that's slowly dissolving. Middens is an RPG Maker game about wandering through a living world of discarded things, and its 2012 soundtrack matches that energy with lo-fi ambient pieces that hover between beautiful and deeply wrong.
"A Series of Hiccups" stutters and glitches with intention, like a record player in a dream. "Space Spasm" pulses with distorted, spacey textures that stretch time out, while "Memories I Know By Name" is the closest thing here to something emotionally grounded.
Seven tracks, all short, all strange. If you're into outsider art games and the kind of music that makes you stare at the ceiling processing what you just heard, Middens delivers that exact frequency.
