"Bewitching Mansion" sets the gothic atmosphere early with layered synths that feel like walking into somewhere you shouldn't be. The character themes for Kaoruko, Reika, Yumiko, and Nanaka each carry their own personality, with Reika's being the standout for its melancholy undertone.
"Beat of Madness" does exactly what the title says, shifting the whole mood into something frantic and unhinged. Then "Nostalgic Sorrow" appears in three versions, orgel, strings, and a full arrange, each one sadder than the last.
The unused Reika track being included is a nice touch. Artifacts like that. For VN soundtrack collectors who want mid-2000s atmosphere that balances beauty and dread in equal measure.
