The stage themes are all riffs on real pieces, "Fantasie Octopus Impromptu" twists Chopin into something you dodge bullets to, and "The Waltz of Octopus" takes three-quarter time and fills it with PSG charm.

"Crime of Century" for the first planet sets the absurd tone immediately, classical grandeur crammed into a few synthesis channels. The boss BGM drops the comedy and just goes hard. Even "Select & Start!!" has personality, bouncy and eager like the game can't wait to throw octopuses at you.
There's something genuinely impressive about hearing Crisis 4th Movement rendered in chiptune. If you love Parodius for the way it makes classical music ridiculous and playable, this MSX version is the purest distillation of that idea.
