The Legend of Wind opens with this lush, sweeping arrangement that immediately tells you the scale has changed. Giant Warrior into Torumekian Army into Kushana is this massive suite that treats the antagonists with real dramatic weight, thundering brass and sharp strings.
The Sea of Decay gets reworked into something almost meditative. So much atmosphere. Bird Person closes everything out by revisiting Nausicaä's Theme one final time with this mature, bittersweet reading that hits harder than the original ever did.
If you loved the 1984 score, hearing Hisaishi revisit it with fresh ears is genuinely moving.
