90s cyberpunk anime scored exactly the way 90s cyberpunk anime should be. Armitage III: Poly-Matrix drops you on Mars with "Dawn in Mars" and immediately it's all brooding synths and industrial atmosphere. The main theme has this noir-tinged electronic pulse that screams Blade Runner by way of Tokyo.

"Chase" and "Cyber Battle" are relentless, full of driving percussion and distorted bass. Then "A Tear of Cyborg" pulls everything back into something fragile and almost acoustic. The contrast works so well. "A City Without Sunshine" just sits in this grey, oppressive space.
Very 1997 in the best way. If you're into Ghost in the Shell or Bubblegum Crisis soundtracks, this lives in that same dark corridor.
