Hearing the same compositions across Master System, Genesis, and Saturn hardware is honestly kind of incredible. The original PS1 "Town" theme on Master System has this bright, thin FM quality that's so distinctly 1987, and then you hear it reimagined with Genesis punch.

"Dark Force" across both versions goes from eerie bleeps to something genuinely menacing with the added sound channels. The Saturn "Ages" versions add yet another layer with CD-quality arrangements. "Dezoris" is haunting on every platform.
The illustration gallery music from the Saturn compilation is a nice archival touch. This is basically a document of how Sega's sound design evolved across an entire console generation. Essential listening if you care about how hardware shaped the music we grew up on.
