There's a feverish energy running through this tracklist that early 2000s Bemani just nailed effortlessly. "Tower of the Sun" builds with this dramatic, almost cinematic tension that has no business being in a candy-colored rhythm game.

"Cobalt" is cool and metallic, all sharp edges. Then you get blindsided by "コンピューターおばあちゃん" and its goofy charm. "Requiem" and "禁じられた契約" go surprisingly dark, while "ラブラブギウギ♡" swings back to sugary pop without warning. The long versions of "Tower of the Sun" and "ヨコシマ・カラー・ベイビー" let the arrangements breathe in ways the arcade cuts can't.
