Ten tracks for a DS mahjong game, and somehow it works. "Taikyoku-chū" (the main gameplay theme) has to carry most of the weight here, and it does, sitting in that focused, low-key space where you need concentration music that doesn't distract.

"Reach" ramps up the tension exactly when it should, that moment where you're one tile away and everything tightens. The five "Hanyo" variations give you just enough variety to keep sessions from blurring together without breaking the mood.
It's minimal by necessity (DS cartridge audio, a table game that needs calm), but there's craft in how little it uses. If you've ever zoned out to puzzle game background music for three hours straight, you already understand the appeal.
