1987 · Arcade, Family Computer

The battle themes underneath are classic SNK, all punchy FM synthesis and rapid-fire percussion pushing through the Famicom's limited channels. "Blue Subterranean Lake" has this eerie descending melody that sticks with you.

"Wounded Blue Moon" closes it out with surprising emotional weight. Short release, only six tracks including narration, but it's a genuine piece of gaming history. If you care about the origins of vocal tracks in games, this is ground zero.
