"Forboding Echoes" layers metallic drones over distant industrial clanking that makes every Strogg corridor feel claustrophobic. "Death Pulse" drives forward with this relentless low-frequency throb that sits right in your chest.
Then "Threads Of Hope Crushed" drops into near-silence, just scraping textures and faint tones. Barely there. The level complete remix adds this weirdly triumphant twist to the bleakness, like surviving something you weren't supposed to.
If you think N64 couldn't do genuinely unsettling audio, this proves otherwise.
