R-Type Final 2 Soundtrack ~Dedicated to Team R-Type Final 2~

2021 · Playstation 4, Switch, Windows, Xbox One

This sounds like a shmup soundtrack that actually remembers it's supposed to make you feel something. Zeal DoQMal and Takayuki Iwai scored R-Type Final 2 with this tense push-pull between industrial aggression and genuine atmosphere.

"Destruction - Invaded Plant Factory" grinds with mechanical urgency while "Diving - Giant Crystal Colonies" opens into something almost beautiful, crystalline pads floating over rhythmic tension. The hangar and museum tracks give you these quiet breathing rooms between the chaos.

That contrast where you go from calm mission briefing to full Bydo assault. "Encounter with Bydo" hits in two phases, assault then expansion, escalating like the series always should. Worth it if you want modern shmup scoring that respects its lineage without just copying it.
