Mega-CD era Ranma 1/2 music that sits in this fascinating middle ground between chiptune and CD-quality audio. This collection pulls from Ranma 1/2: Byakuran Aika, and you can hear the hardware flexing with vocal tracks and arrangements that the cartridge-based consoles just couldn't touch in 1993.
"Jajauma ni Sasenaide" (the classic anime opening) gets a game-flavored treatment that hits different. The Byakuran Kumikyoku suite brings genuine drama with its orchestral arrangement. What's interesting is how the vocal tracks like "Like A Child" and "Pure na Power" sit alongside the instrumental game pieces.
It captures that specific early-90s anime game energy perfectly. Ranma fans who haven't dug into the game music are missing out.
