Rayman Origins Original Soundtrack

2011 · Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360

This soundtrack sounds like a world music festival got swallowed by a cartoon. Christophe Heral and Billy Martin scored Rayman Origins with this gleefully unhinged mix of didgeridoo grooves, kazoo choirs, and scat-singing nonsense that somehow holds together perfectly.

"Desert of Dijiridoos" rumbles with woody percussion and these low droning tones that make the desert feel alive and slightly drunk. Then "Gourmand Land" flips to icy marimbas and manic kitchen energy. The whole thing bounces between tiki lounge funk, reggae shuffles, and bamboo flute ballads without ever feeling random.

Analog warmth everywhere. If you need a platformer soundtrack that makes you grin like an idiot for 40 straight minutes, this is the one.
