Warm acoustic guitar and teacup-delicate piano arrangements that smell like an English garden after rain. Soshi Hosoi composed the score for Littlewitch's Rondo Leaflet, and the two-disc "Old Rose Garden" collection wraps you in this cozy Victorian afternoon atmosphere.
"Nightingale" is all gentle fingerpicked strings with this bittersweet undertone that creeps in slowly. "Deep into the Fog" shifts darker, trading the warmth for something more mysterious and unsettled. Then "no rain, no rainbow" brings in Suzuka Nakahara's vocals and suddenly the whole thing opens up.
Lots of tea-and-biscuits energy with tracks like "Scent of Baked Scone" and "Sweet Cambric Tea." If you like visual novel soundtracks that build a world through atmosphere alone, this one disappears you completely.
