Two vocal tracks and their karaoke versions from Sayonara Etranger, a 2002 Windows visual novel, and they hit with that early-2000s J-pop sincerity that's almost impossible to fake now. Never Say Goodby has this floating piano intro that builds into a full vocal arrangement with string synths layered underneath, very much in that mid-era bishoujo game tradition where the vocal themes carried more emotional weight than anything in the actual script.

As close as posible goes softer, more intimate. Almost like a lullaby with a beat. The karaoke versions are surprisingly nice to just have on in the background, all that instrumentation without vocals. A tiny release but genuinely warm.
Worth it if you collect early VN music.
