Best-of compilations usually feel lazy but this one actually works as a listen. Shikigami no Shiro's greatest hits pulls from across the series and the time-stamped tracks from the first game still go off. "July 23rd - 23 Hours 5 Min" has this late-night intensity that peaks right when the story does.

"Opalescence" from the original is gorgeous, shimmering synths that feel almost too pretty for a bullet hell. "In to a Core" drives hard with layered percussion and urgent melodic lines. Having "flying" from Shikigami II at the end ties the whole franchise together nicely.
