Every single battle on the map gets its own track and they all go absurdly hard. Shin Sangokumusou 8's complete PS4 soundtrack is Dynasty Warriors 9, the open world one, and the music was never the problem with that game.

"EAT 'EM ALL!" as a marching theme is just chef's kiss levels of aggression. "RED STORM INFECTION" for Chi Bi layers in this frantic intensity that matches the fire attack chaos. "THEME OF LU BU -DW EPIC MIX-" might be the most dramatic version of that melody across the entire series.
"RAINWATER" for Fan Castle has this oppressive, heavy feel that fits the flooding narrative perfectly. Even "WALL OF SILENCE" for Yi Ling carries weight. If DW9's gameplay let you down, at least let the soundtrack redeem the experience.
