Each alien race gets its own theme, and they're all distinct: the Hylotl theme drifts into something aquatic and meditative, while the Glitch theme, literally called "Error 0xbfaf000," crunches into mechanical territory.
"Nomads (Passacaglia)" builds on a repeating bass line that keeps evolving until it's something entirely new. The whole score balances ambient space-gazing with moments of real melodic punch. Just enormous. If you've been mining pixels in Starbound without headphones on, you've been playing it wrong.
