Grant Henry, better known as Stemage from Metroid Metal, recorded this entire album through a single microphone and played every instrument himself. It's a left turn from his game-cover work into original territory, mixing 90s rock grit with pop hooks and prog ambitions.
"Star Ninety-Six" is actually the oldest track here, dating back to 2001, and it carries this restless energy that sets the tone. "Luna" strips things back to something almost tender before the album builds itself back up through the two-part title track.
Every layer is one guy in a room. If you only know Stemage from his Metroid covers, Strati is the proof that the songwriter underneath all those arrangements had plenty of his own ideas worth hearing.
