SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK

2010 · Nintendo Wii

That opening orchestral hit in "Sky Station Galaxy" tells you immediately this sequel isn't coasting. Yokota and Kondo came back for Super Mario Galaxy 2 and somehow found even more range. "Cloudy Court Galaxy" floats on these delicate woodwind lines that feel weightless in the best way, while "Melty Monster Galaxy" goes full dramatic with a choir that sounds like the final act of something way bigger than a platformer.

"Puzzle Plank Galaxy" is pure playfulness, all bouncy marimbas and staccato strings. The Yoshi themes add this goofy warmth the first game didn't have. If the original Galaxy score made you feel small in the universe, this one makes you feel like you own it.
