"Brinstar Overgrown With Vegetation Area" keeps its funky bassline intact but now the percussion has real weight behind it. "Norfair Hot Lava Area" still sounds like descending into something that wants you dead. The Wrecked Ship theme remains genuinely unsettling.
What makes this work is that it doesn't try to reinvent anything. It just reveals what was always hiding inside those compressed samples. If Super Metroid's atmosphere already lives rent-free in your head, this version will renovate the whole place.
