"VANISHING TROOPER" paired with its drama segment hits different when you hear the desperation in the voice acting underneath. "鋼鉄のコクピット" (Steel Cockpit) sets up the Masou Kishin vs. SRX confrontation with a tension that the game music alone couldn't quite deliver.
The back half builds toward "THE ARROW OF DESTINY" and "鋼の魂~SUPER ROBOT SPIRITS" like a proper climax, stacking theme on theme. It even closes with a karaoke version of the main theme, which is so earnestly Japanese it loops back around to cool.
