Taiko no Tatsujin Original Soundtrack: Yakitoumorokoshi

2018

This Taiko no Tatsujin soundtrack collection goes so much harder than a rhythm game has any right to. The seasonal dragon tracks (Toryu through Shiuryu) cycle through these intense orchestral arrangements that feel more like boss themes from a JRPG.

Then you've got the GMT mashups where they just slam Ridge Racer into Densha de GO into Fantasy Zone and somehow it works. Pure chaos energy. The Namco crossover remixes are ridiculous in the best way. RAGE v. self is this aggressive piece that feels completely out of place in a drumming game and that's exactly why it rules.

If you've ever white-knuckled through an Oni difficulty chart, you already know these songs in your bones.
