The NES port translates it into tighter chiptune arrangements that hold up shockingly well. "Highway Chaser" keeps the pace frantic, and the Technodrome theme shifts into something more menacing right when the difficulty spikes.
The Shredder and Krang themes go appropriately intense for final boss territory. Anyone who dumped quarters into this cabinet already knows, but hearing both versions back to back really shows what the NES could do.
