Austin Wintory returns and somehow the world sounds even more broken than before. The Banner Saga 2 picks up where the first left off and the music reflects a caravan that's been pushed past its limits. "The World Is Breaking" isn't subtle about it, swelling strings cracking under their own tension.

"The Endlessly Grasping Bogs" has this sucking, suffocating quality, low drones pulling everything down. "Descended From Fire" finally lets the percussion loose with something fierce and defiant. Then "Paths Part" strips everything back to raw emotion, just voice and strings.
Genuinely hard to listen to without feeling something. The track titles alone tell a story. If the first Banner Saga soundtrack made you feel the weight of leadership, this one makes you feel the cost.
