Deep strings and choral swells give King's Bounty II a weight its predecessor never had. The soundtrack by Henning Nugel and Karl Bude treats Nostria like a real place worth scoring seriously. Main Theme opens with a brass-and-choir combination that immediately sets a darker tone than the series' strategy roots would suggest.

Nostria Tavern brings a warmer, folksy reprieve with acoustic strings and light percussion, then Blight Trials drops into this ominous low-end drone that crawls under your skin. Magic Forest doing that delicate harp-and-flute thing but with an edge of unease underneath.
Compact at 16 tracks but everything serves the world. If you play turn-based strategy games for the atmosphere, this one nails it.
