Tokimeki Memorial 2 Blooming Stories 3 Miho & Maho Shirayuki

2000 · Playstation

Two voices harmonizing over PS1-era pop production and it actually sounds beautiful. The Shirayuki twins' Blooming Stories disc from Tokimeki Memorial 2 plays up the duet angle in the best way possible. "Garden ~Love Song from Miho and Maho~" layers their vocals together so naturally it almost sounds like one person singing in two registers.

"Fairy Tale" leans into this storybook sweetness that fits the twins' whole aesthetic. Then "My Little Blossom ~Miho's Serenade~" strips things back to just Miho alone and there's something really vulnerable about hearing one voice after all the harmony.

The karaoke tracks show off how delicate the arrangements actually are underneath. Worth finding if you're into early-2000s character vocal albums.
