Tokyo Tattoo Girls - Tattoo Parlour Music

2017 · PS Vita, Windows

The track names alone tell you this soundtrack has attitude. Tokyo Tattoo Girls is a strategy game about tattooed warriors claiming Tokyo's wards, and the music leans into this punk-meets-cool-jazz identity that fits the ink parlour aesthetic perfectly.

"Rurou Gamble" opens with this restless energy that sets the tone for the whole album, while "War Ink" drops into something heavier and more confrontational. Then you get "Indigo Cake" which just... exists in its own weird space.

The battle themes hit hard enough but "Sorrow" and "Aftermath Of Battle" show real emotional range when things quiet down. If you liked the Vita's weirder strategy offerings, the soundtrack alone is worth revisiting.
