Volume two and Tallarico went bigger. Twenty-nine tracks spanning what feels like every genre the mid-90s game industry could throw at a composer. "Subterranean" has this thick, moody atmosphere with heavy reverb and stalking bass lines.
"Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement" is a flex, taking Beethoven's most technically demanding movement and arranging it for game hardware. "Black Dawn" brings military intensity with pounding drums and these aggressive synth brass stabs.
"Tale of the Seafarer" and "Atlantis" both lean into aquatic themes but from completely different angles, one adventurous, one mysterious. "Banjo Race" is just fun. Pure, goofy fun. The variety here is almost disorienting but that was the gig in the 90s.
