"Touhou Shuffle" opens with this loose, funky rhythm that completely recontextualizes the source material. "リヴァイアサン" (Leviathan) builds slowly with sax-tinged layers that feel luxurious. Then "葬花" closes things out on a melancholic note, stripped back and reflective.
Only eight tracks but every one of them breathes. The kind of arrange album that proves Touhou music works in literally any genre. If you've ever wanted Gensokyo to sound like a Steely Dan record, somebody actually went and did it.
