A New Day Rises opens with cautious hope, strings building slowly over a low drone, but Shadows in the Darkness immediately pulls you into tension with dissonant chords and deep percussion. Five Minutes of Sunlight stands out because it's one of the few moments of genuine warmth in the whole album, fragile and temporary.
The combat tracks like Defy the Fury and The Last Stand layer heavy brass over driving rhythms without ever feeling generic. A Candle in the Darkness is just. Quietly devastating. If you like CRPGs where the world is ending and the music makes sure you never forget it, this soundtrack delivers that weight across every track.
