"Maple and sea" opens with this gentle piano melody over ambient waves that sets the whole emotional register. "Raining night" is devastating in how simple it is, just sparse keys and space. The piano solo versions of tracks like "Fenghua high school" strip things down even further and somehow hit harder.
"Born to die" is exactly as heavy as that title implies. If you've ever cried at a visual novel and aren't ashamed to admit it, this soundtrack already understands you.
