UNDER DEFEAT -SoundTracks- DC Edition

2012 · Dreamcast

Late-era Dreamcast shmup energy and it sounds exactly as raw as you'd want from that hardware. Under Defeat's DC Edition soundtrack keeps the aggressive rock-electronic hybrid intact but there's something about hearing it contextualized by stage that makes the whole thing click differently.

"Can't come back" as stage 1 music is an immediate statement of intent, no easing you in. Boss tracks like "Death valley" and "huge dead end" crank the distortion and tempo to match the bullet hell on screen. The unused track "delusion that lived" is fascinating.

Cut content you can actually hear. If you're a Dreamcast collector or shmup fan who wants to experience one of the console's final battle cries, this is the version to grab.
