Hand to Hand Combat has this punchy rhythm section driving under synth stabs, and by the time you get to The Coming Terror Approaches it's full orchestral panic.

Preparation for the Decisive Battle is where it peaks though. Slow build, strings creeping in, then it just erupts. The character pieces like Dita's Wish and Change in Meia bring it back down with these delicate piano moments that actually land.
Real emotional whiplash stuff. If you watched Vandread for the space battles but forgot the music, you're missing half the experience.
