Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Soundtrack

2002 · Windows

The Night Elf tracks like Awakening use these ethereal choir pads and celtic-tinged flutes that immediately transport you to Ashenvale. Blackrock & Roll goes full bombastic military brass for the Alliance. Then you flip to the Undead side and Arcane Echoes is all reverb-drenched dissonance and ghostly textures.

Frostmourne alone carries more emotional weight than most game soundtracks manage across their entire runtime. Still the gold standard. If you've only heard these through gameplay, the isolated tracks hit completely different.
