Massive brass and choir that sounds like the world literally cracking open. Russell Brower and the Cataclysm team wrote music for a broken Azeroth and it hits with this desperate, elemental fury that the earlier WoW scores never touched.

"The Shattering" opens with this thundering percussion and strings that feel like standing on a fault line. "Depths of Vashj'ir" goes completely underwater, eerie and beautiful with these flowing harp lines and distant vocals.
Then "Nightsong" just devastates you. That female vocal melody over strings is one of the most emotional pieces Blizzard ever recorded. Still think about it randomly. If you raided through Cataclysm and never sat with this soundtrack, you owe yourself that.
