The Medieval pieces have this PS2-era orchestral stomp to them, all horns and marching energy. Oriental 1 shifts into something more restrained, almost contemplative, before the combat tempo kicks in. Then the Egyptian tracks bring in these dry, percussive textures that hit differently when you're lobging donkeys at a pyramid.
Roman 2 might be the standout though. Just solid battle music that doesn't overstay its welcome. If you missed this spin-off, the soundtrack alone makes it worth a look.
