"Maiden's Capriccio" hits with this frantic layering that shouldn't work on the hardware but absolutely does. Then "Faint Dream ~ Inanimate Dream" slows everything down into something genuinely haunting. The way these compositions push against PC-98 limitations is kind of absurd.
If you only know Touhou music from Windows-era arrangements, going back to these originals is a completely different experience.
