Ys IX -Monstrum NOX- ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK mini [CODE:Red]

2019 · Playstation 4

Five tracks but every single one punches way above its weight. This mini soundtrack from Ys IX: Monstrum Nox by Falcom Sound Team jdk is a concentrated dose of what makes modern Ys music so addictive. "CLOACA MAXIMA" opens with aggressive synth rock that feels like falling through a dungeon at terminal velocity.

"TAKE IT EASY!" is deceptively named because it still keeps this restless momentum underneath its lighter melody. And "FORGOTTEN DAYS" carries this quiet melancholy that lingers. Just five songs and it still tells you everything about the vibe of Balduq's prison city.

If you're on the fence about Ys IX, let this sampler do the convincing.
