YS MUSIC HISTORY

2009

Twenty-one tracks spanning the entire Ys series up to 2009 and it plays like a timeline of Falcom learning to make increasingly unhinged action music. Ys Music History pulls from every mainline entry and the progression is wild to hear in sequence.

"First Step Towards Wars" still has that PC-88 energy even in its arranged form. "Valestein Castle" brings the Felghana heat. "Battle #58" from Celceta keeps that frantic pace that defined Ys IV. Then later entries like "Scars of the Divine Wing" from Origin show how far the composition style evolved.

Each track represents a different era of the series. If you want to understand why Ys fans never shut up about the music, this compilation is the fastest way to get it.
