Late 80s Sega arcade FM synth pushed to its absolute limit. Yu Suzuki's Power Drift has this soundtrack by Hiroshi Kawaguchi that just screams into corners at 200mph and never lets up. "Like the Wind" is pure adrenaline, these layered FM leads trading off like two guitars in a speed metal duel.

"Poker Face" has this weirdly cool swagger to it, almost jazz-fusion but filtered through Sega's arcade board. And then "Side Street" hits with that bassline that just. won't. quit. The Saturn arrange versions on this release flesh everything out with richer samples but the original arcade cuts still have that raw bite.
