"Immaculate Frenzy" is pure controlled chaos, "Pegasus Riders" has this heroic sweep that feels like a different game entirely, and "Turks 101" opens with the kind of slick espionage tone that makes you wish the Turks got their own spinoff.
The tension tracks are where the collection really shines. "Time Limit" does exactly what the name says, ratcheting up the pressure with staccato strings and urgent percussion. "Uncontrollable Darkness" and "True Beast" go full menacing, while "Meeting In the Rain" pulls back into something surprisingly melancholic for a multiplayer lobby.
Then there are the quieter moments. "Lucrecia's Research" and "Pure Stream" carry that signature FFVII emotional weight, tying the online battles back to the larger story. "Train Graveyard" is a deep cut callback that Midgar fans will feel in their bones.
This is genuinely lost FFVII music that most fans have never encountered, and it deserves way more attention than being a footnote in a discontinued online mode.
