Dragon Half is already one of the most absurd comedy manga and OVA properties from the early '90s, and this 1994 game soundtrack leans all the way into that energy. The track titles alone tell you everything: "An Island Where Cucco (Big Fan of Bunny Cheerleader) Lives" and "Crossing The Pure Shopping Street by the Amusement Park's Train" read like someone was having way too much fun in the liner notes.

"Come On! Come On! Come and See!!" bursts in with infectious enthusiasm that matches Mink's half-dragon chaos perfectly. The music bounces between bubbly PC Engine chiptune and genuinely catchy melodies that have no business being this good for a comedy game.
"Writhing in Agony... Aren't You" plays pain for laughs musically, "Shouts! The Storyteller is Shouting!! 'Today Let's Battle Fair and Square'" is as dramatic as its title is ridiculous, and "What's 'nnn~, n, n~n, nnn~'" might be the most honestly-named track in video game history.
The drama tracks with "Detective Beauty Minku" add voice-acted scenes to the mix, making this as much a sound memorial as the title promises. For fans of the Dragon Half OVA who never knew a game existed on PC-98 and TurboGrafx-16, this is a delightful rabbit hole.
Pure '90s anime comedy energy preserved in chiptune amber.
