Guilty Gear XX Λ Core: Secret Gig

2008 · Playstation 2

Two tracks. That's it. Guilty Gear XX Accent Core's Secret Gig is a PS2-era bonus release from 2008 with just a pair of songs, and both of them go unreasonably hard for what amounts to a footnote in the franchise discography.

"Launch Out" hits with immediate intensity, a fast, driving rock track that sounds like Ishiwatari wrote it for a final boss and then just... filed it away. "Keep The Flag Flying" shifts into something more anthemic and triumphant, the kind of closing track that makes you feel like you just cleared survival mode.

Two songs, no filler by definition. The brevity actually works because neither track wastes a second. For Guilty Gear completionists who want every scrap of Ishiwatari's PS2-era output, especially the stuff that almost slipped through the cracks.
