"Sector Sweep" builds military tension. "Hunting Party" drives forward relentlessly. "Extinction Event Horizon" lives up to its name with apocalyptic weight. "Shu'ulathoi" brings Combine alien dread. "Dark Interval" and "Penultimatum" close with the kind of tension that made Half-Life 2's final hours legendary.

"Eine Kleiner Elevatormuzik" is a brilliant title for an elevator track. "What Kind of Hospital is This" asks a question the music answers with pure unease. If you played Episode Two and still remember the bridge, the antlion caves, the strider battle, the music is why those moments stuck.
