MARVEL Rivals: Galactic Tunes - Original Video Game Soundtrack

2024 · Playstation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S

Marvel Rivals burst onto the hero shooter scene in 2024 with a bombastic free-to-play approach, and its soundtrack matches that energy beat for beat. "Rivals 'Til the End" serves as a rallying anthem that sets the tone immediately, while the Chrissy Costanza vocal version closing out the album gives it that extra mainstream punch.

The login theme "Path to Rivals" has that addictive loop quality that burrows into your brain after hundreds of sessions, which is exactly what a live-service game needs. The map themes are where this soundtrack really shines, painting each arena with distinct musical identity.

"Shin-Shibuya Neon" and "Tokyo 2099 Showdown" deliver futuristic cyberpunk energy for the game's Japanese-inspired maps, while "Birnin T'Challa," "Pilgrimage to Djalia," and "Warriors of Wakanda" form an impressive Afrofuturist trilogy that gives the Wakandan stages real cultural weight.

"Web of Spider-Islands" captures that frantic New York energy perfectly, and "Jeff Attack!" is the kind of delightfully silly track that only a game featuring a land shark named Jeff could pull off. The Doom-centric tracks are some of the album's strongest moments.

"No One Rivals Doom" carries the theatrical menace you'd expect from Marvel's most arrogant villain, and "Impending Dooms" ratchets up the tension beautifully. "The Golden Realm" and "Glorious Yggdrasill" lean into the Asgardian mythology with appropriately grand orchestral arrangements.

For a game that had to compete with Overwatch's musical legacy from day one, Galactic Tunes carves out its own identity with confidence.
