Oniken Soundtrack

2012 · Linux, MacOS, Windows

Absolute NES-era aggression channeled through modern chiptune production. Oniken's soundtrack by JoyMasher goes for that late-80s action platformer vibe and completely nails it. "Cybernetic Violence" has these rapid arpeggios over pounding pulse wave bass that sound ripped straight from a Sunsoft game.

"Ice Fortress" shifts into something colder and more deliberate, tight melodic loops that build tension with every bar. "Brain Palace" gets weird and claustrophobic in the best possible way. Just relentless energy. If you grew up on Ninja Gaiden and Shatterhand and wish more indie devs understood what made those soundtracks so intense, Oniken's score gets it completely right.
